It's that time again… here is my annual "Who's Going To SxSW From North Texas" list. I've put in the shows I wouldn't miss in bold, but then, that's my taste in music; it may not necessarily be yours. I'm thrilled for all the bands that have showcases, but there were many many wonderful bands from here that were not offered spots. Why not? Who knows? I mean, where is Sorta? I could go on, but I've spent the morning researching this for y'all, since I can't go to SxSW this year (*sob, sob*) and will also miss everything going on in

worst SXSW lineup in several years I'd say.
It's all about the UNofficial parties this year, I'd say. Will post a list of those soon-ish.
btw, nice pic. =)
Alabama Thunderpussy was one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen. They opened for the Misfits in Virginia in 2002 or 3 (can't remember exactly). REALLY REALLY LOUD. Front man is out of control. Had a really cool ringer shirt that I bought and wore a lot. Old school tobacco company style logo.
How is The Tragically Hip in your funny band names list, not under must-sees?
Saw Peter, Bjorn, and John on TV a couple weeks ago. Not a fan.
Will look over the schedule close to and if I notice anything I'll post another comment. Thanks for the pre-sort, though.
Don't forget about the Dallas festival...North by Southwest. www.northbysouthwest.com. Polyphonic, Okkervil, Starlight Mints, Snowden, etc. myspace.com/ellumonstage
I promise y'all a treat with menwhopause. If you don't believe me, listen to some of their music here and here [unreleased].
yeah, but what's the story behind their name? do they get the joke? all I want to know...
